Kevin Castle, DVM, MS, and Tanya Dewey, PhD, formed Wildlife Veterinary Consulting LLC in Autumn 2014.
Kevin: I am a veterinarian and a managing partner of Wildlife Veterinary Consulting, LLC, based in Fort Collins, CO. I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees in Zoology from Colorado State University (CSU), and received my Veterinary degree from CSU in 2003. I have over 25 years of experience working with amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals in field and laboratory settings, as a wildlife researcher and as a veterinarian. I work with wildlife managers and researchers nationwide to preserve and improve the health of wildlife populations, by providing professional and technical assistance regarding animal health and welfare issues, zoonotic diseases, disease outbreak investigations, and training. I have a strong interest in developing and employing new methods and techniques for handling and monitoring wildlife, and enhancing our ability to collect meaningful data with the least impact on natural behaviors.
Tanya: I am a research biologist, conservation geneticist, and managing partner of WVC. I received my B.S. degree in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and my Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
